Is This All There Is?

She looks like she's in that suspended place between boredom and ache - feeling like a thought, not a portrait of someone having one.

The eyes going two different directions; one pink, inward, one blue, outward. Like she's looking at you and through you at the same time. That kind of dissociative stare when you're physically here, chin in hand, but mentally somewhere else entirely.

It's not a cute, posed thinker. The knuckles are tight, paint-smeared. It's holding her face up. Tired thinking. The kind that comes after staying up too long.

That violent, almost too-happy hot pink crashing into the black void behind her, with the little black bird silhouette and the butterfly on the side. The bird is watching her while she's not watching anything. It feels like she's thinking about freedom / escape / whether to stay or fly - but in a very teenage, dramatic, "no one gets me" way.

Is this all there is?

Not sad enough to cry, not angry enough to act. Just that heavy, colorful, buzzing boredom where everything feels too loud and too empty at once.
